All the coolant steam pipes and plugs I have seen have been universal to all the LS engines.

Anything can happen. I don't think it's very common, but any gasket will eventually leak. I would replace and keep an eye on it see what happens.

put a new one on today and sure as hell its still leaking. im pissed it just kinda bubble out. i itghtened it more and it came through the area were the bolt is. my speculation is 2 things. i did not use and sealant or anything. my next step is tomorow to put some high temp rtv on the bolt and around the gasket and see what happends then. the other speculation i have is the bolt on the side thats not leaking has a long tip on the top. it also looks a little longer then the by the one thats leaking. Any inputs?

Update: it turns out i had the wrong sized bolt on one side and it caused it to not seal properly. would have never guessed it!

thanks. its crazy, what i did was i switched the bolt from the side that wasent leaking to the side that was and it reversed! the side that wasent leaking started to and the side that was leaking dident. look at the two bolts and the good bolt was longer than the bad one and the treads that were catching on the bad one were messed up. so i found out the bolt size is m6 1.0 30mm so i went to ace and they had the bolt and it fixed it.
