motor mounts
So the motor mounts on my z28 are shot. looking at replacements, noticed these polyurethane "sport" mounts, wondering if anyone has had experiences with them? and what are the benefits of solid mounts?

Many people have done poly motor mounts. The benefit to them is that they reduce the amount of deflection the engine creates, which translates to more power being output to the wheels. How much power I can't say, though I doubt it's really measurable on a dyno.
The one downside is that this reduced movement translates into vibrations into the car itself. Most people have no issues with this and get used to it.
I wouldn't recommend swapping your tranny mount for a poly one however, most complain that the vibrations at that point are unbearable.

You definitely don't want to go with a solid mount. The poly mounts will help with motor deflection, and depending on how hard the urethane is, will transmit more vibration/noise into the cabin. It depends upon you as to whether or not that increased vibration is tolerable. Most people don't mind or even notice it. The benefits are definitely noticeable with a snappier throttle response.

My understanding is solid mounts are for drag racing cars and not for street cars, I went with poly engine mounts and trans mount (M6) as well as a Spohn torque arm . It is winter here in Manitoba, Canada so I have not been able to drive the car yet.
