Default What cat back exhaust sounds best with the best gains?

I thought I knew what cat back exhaust I wanted to put on my '02 WS6 along with the Pacesetter LT's I plan on getting but I'm not sure. I was originally thinking Borla for the cat back, but then on Pacesetter's website, they advertise TFX Performance Kat-Back systems with a 12-14% power increase. I've never heard of TFX and I couldn't find any reviews on it.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm basically looking for the best sounding exhaust with the most gains.

Thanks.

ORY = Off Road Y-pipe. Meaning no catalytic converters.

As far as a cat-back... most of them will result in similar gains in terms of HP, its the sound that will vary... so its hard to say which is "best" as everyone has different tastes. It really comes down to how much you want to spend, what sound you like, and what tips you like out back. I have a magnaflow cat-back with pacesetter headers and an ORY, car is very quiet at idle, but opens up fairly loud at WOT.

I'd steer away from the SLP Loudmouth 1 setup if you don't want an overly loud car. Otherwise it's all gravy.

Check out GMMG, that's the best sounding one I have heard. If you're going to get LT's i highly recommend you get some high flow cats as well so that it won't be really raspy. I went with an ORY and ordered high flow cats after a week.

As far as exhaust goes my car has Pacesetter LT's, a TSP catted Y-pipe, and a GMMG exhaust.

There's a lot of questions like this on here. Basically, most catbacks flow similarly (not Flowmaster for LS1's it seems), so it's basically a matter of taste. I believe the SLP dual/dual and the Magnaflow catbacks are some of the most free flowing, but it's probably a wash.

As far as sound, that's completely up to you. Check out LS1sounds and listen for yourself.

Good luck!

you have probably already heard of ls1sounds.com but if not go check it out. jus make sure ur listening to the ones that have similar mods as your car so you can get a realistic idea of what yours might sound like.

12%-14% power increase is BS!!!! You won't even notice a SOTP difference on a stock car but combined with other mods a good CB will add up.

What, you don't think that a good catback can give you an extra 35 rwhp?!?

Magnaflow hands down. I would personally stay away from LM and Flowmaster

I like my Hooker Catback. Not sure how much power it really gave me. But it sounds good. Can't wait to get LT's to see what that sounds like.

Personally I have LTs ORY and magnaflow and they are quiet, more than 80% of the time I have my cut out open. Borla sound really good, check out www.ls1sounds.com. Also if you want most power get true duals.

I get compliments on my stock WS6 exhaust with bypassed cats all the time. Sound nice when I get on it but can kill the volume by keeping it under 2500 for the neighbors and police. I bet I wouldnt gain 5rwhp from a aftermarket catback.

I like my exhaust quiet, full stock was too quiet. I like being able to hear it on the highway with the radio off, but not with it on.

Hooker aerochamber catback here as well. Great muscle car sound. A tad quiet but a monster when you get on it. Actually tested and was found to be one of the best flowing mufflers out there. Using it with ARH long Tubes and catted y pipe. Very reasonably priced as well.
