Sounds right, good driver and sticky tires and the right track. 109 is good for mid 12's if you get the ****** to hook!

Maybe he just got a good/lucky run, even if he is a good driver im sure he had a little luck. Remeber they broke into the 12s with a stock ss one time, but it wasnt consistent. He may be a better driver but the nittos helped a lot too im sure.

Tires can make all the difference at the track.

Tires make a huge difference, especially if what you had on before wasn't that good. Also, being a good driver in an M6 means a lot more than being a good driver than in an A4.

If your track is semi-prepped well, those drag radials make a big difference over regular radials. Remember, the first 60' is the most important part of drag racing. Anything you can do to maximize traction and get out of the hole quicker will affect your ET greatly. A "good" 60' time on regular radials is 2.0 sec, while on drag radials a good 60' is around 1.75 sec. That will end up knocking off about 0.3 seconds off your ET.

But, if the track just sucks ***, then no tire will help but a drag slick

To answer your question, hell yes 12.8 is possible with those mods and a good track/driver

With lid and exhaust my A4 SS saw a best run of 13.2 @ 104 that was only one time after that the street tires seemed to not grip as well and it ran 13.4`s the rest of the night, i think it is possible since my SS is only a 98 and the newer LS1`s are more aggressive plus i ran it down here in ga in 90 degree weather. So if the tires hooked and all the conditions were right and he can drive i can see it
