Default The camaro SS hood

I just got a camaro SS hood that is black. I have a sunset orange z28 and I am going to paint all of the hood cept the scoop to match it. Anyone have any ideas what kind of prices body shops are going to give me? Hopefully it isn't too ridiculous

under $250? An SS hood is something you want done RIGHT! It's the most noticed part of the entire car and is not something you want Fudged Up.

No crap that is why I bought it for my z28

I just hate having to pay so much money to those money eating body shops

Sorry its www.3rdgendecals.com

Forget 250 or less. I paid 450 just for my front
clip/bumper to be redone and I'm looking at about 250
for the rear passenger 1/4 panel.

Let me tell you what I had to do to get my SS Hood painted. First I had the SS Hood painted by a well know body shop in town. They charged me $300.00 to paint the SS Hood. But the SS Hood was not matching the rest of the car so they had to blend the SS Hood with the fender's and the bumper. So they charged me another $250.00 to do the blending. I guess sunset orange is a crazy color to match. But the total to paint and blend was $550.00. Check out the pic's of my car in my sig to see my Z28 with the OEM SS Hood. I hope they can match the SS Hood with out having to blend.

They will never get Sunset Orange Metalic to match period. Hell, the hood on my SOM SS is slightly differnet and that's from the factory. They will have to blend it which will cost more. Plus SOM isn't going to be a cheap color. Plus we're talk a large panel that everyone is going to see. Plus the black stripe. Get my point?

One other thing, don't go cheap. I did on my Pewter Metalic SS (another color that won't match) when I had my hood and fender replaced. He blended into the fender(s) and door(s) but not the front clip. The hood, front and mirrors didn't even come close. Plus I could still tell the front of the car was darker. AND the paint job was crap along with horrable job lining up panels.

Moral: You get what you pay for.

What Kurt D said is right Sunset Orange is going to be hard to mtach even with the paint chip. I think you are going to have to pay to get it blended if not it will not match up.
