Oh boy, this could get long.......
I believe they will be bringing it back and it will be the traditional platform (rwd, V8) it's just a matter of details and what year they do it, etc. Though I am curious if anybody has any new/recent REAL information myself.

I haven't seen anything new recenty. Just a bunch of repost type stuff. There was an article in PHR I think recently saying that the Camaro will be back for '07, but nothing official.

Ok, so the "official" word from the dealer that I bought my WS6 from claimed that the Camaros will not really return due to some legal lawsuit with Canada when they stopped producing them. According to him, there will be a new sports car that will take it's place that will supposedly look very close but they wouldnt be able to use the name "camaro". Sound like a load of crap to you? Yeah, me too. I'll believe that when I see it...

GM took care of that when they tore down the plant in Canada. The deal was as long as the factory was there they couldn't use the name unless it was built there. This happened a long time ago.

At least that is the way I read it. I think they said the Camaro platform will come out as "Super Sport".

Yeah, people in quebec are a-holes and most of them are french =P. However, I thought it was said that GM couldn't use the Camaro name until the year 2007. This thread is pretty much beating a dead horse. There's no way to be 100% sure, except wait and see...

Check out the 5th gen forum on camaroz28.com, there is tons of info about this there, especially look at guionM's posts. And BTW GM is free to use the Camaro name now.

We'll see a Camaro in '07 or '08, and yes, it will be called a Camaro. Hopefully this time they'll market it a little more aggressively, so as to steal some market share from the mustang.
Someone, somewhere mentioned they would not produce a six cylinder model. I can only hope the claim has as much weight as it's logic, as GM desperately needs to sell the Camaro in droves upon it's re-release. After all, the revenue from all those V6s is what pays for the R&D that goes into our Z's.
