Default Fuel question

I am thinking of going back to the track again soon. Can I run some of the 110 octane fuel they sell at the track in my LS1? Its pretty much stock so I wonder if it would hurt it more than help it? I was just going to put a few gallons in an almost empty tank of 93 octane.

If it's got lead in it, it will hurt big time (mung your O2s and
cats). If you are not tuned so tight you ping, then there's
no bonus to using higher octane.

for my setup though i will/can benefit from the higher octain due to my higher compression.

Run more compression/timing with higher octane. Be sure that it is unleaded which you probably wont find at the track. I get mine at MTI

Octane Ratings are basically how hard it is to get the fuel to ignite. A high compression/high boost engine needs high octane 110 or so to keep the fuel/air mixture from igniting prematurealy (knock)

On a stock car it wouldn't help and might even hurt to run race fuel.
