2002 Collector's Edition WS6
What would be a good price to pay for a brand new 2002 Collectors Edition WS6?
There is a dealership who has one here in town, they are asking something like 38,000 (probably why they have not sold it yet). I spoke to them about it a while back, but did not try to get the price lower b/c i wasnt planning on purchasing at the time. I am debating on trading my car in on it and starting all over with new mods (of course i probably will not perform any big ones for a few years)
The car is kept in a garage in bad weather (and sometimes good weather as well) and i dont believe they let people test drive it unless they feel the customer will actually buy it (hell, when i went to look at it, they didnt even offer to unlock it -- the salesman was a real jack... to, he didnt know anything about the car, except that it was a collectors edition and the last knew one around)

there is a "new" never titled 2002 SS LE conv. M6 at the chevy dealer in abilene. at least it was still there a couple months ago. never titled, but the owner of the dealership drove it around for about 900 miles. they wanted 35,000 for that. the salesman told me price was set in stone on it. as stupid as it is, i bet they wont come down on the TA either.

I paid 26,000 for one with a 5332 miles on last March. It had 6 months of warrenty then. If u r going to drive it I would not pay that much. Watch ebay. 3 or 4 months ago there were alot of them on there, not so many any more. I love my car. Drive down the street and peolpe look.

Don't bother with a collectors edition. IMHO it is ugly as sin and will never be worth much because it is a trans am conmemorating the 35 th anniversary of the firebird. Why not use a firebird to celebrate that?
Plus it is not a traditional pontiac anniversary color for an anniversary car.
To me it was a bunch of crap pontiac did to help sell the last few f-bodies they had left.
By itself it is a nice looking car, but the black wheels have to go as well as the 35th anniversary emblems/decals.
No offense intended to all here who own the car. But I would never own one.

Personally, I think the 30'th anniversery WS.6's were the lamest WS.6's made. They came across as a very "girly" depiction of what the WS.6 package was trying to accomplish. I know all the history of the firebird, so don't waste my time telling me about the color coding, and why they made it the color they did, with the stripes they did...I don't care...
But, seriously, just cause you're pissed off that you bought a "collectors car" thinking it was the last "collectors" WS.6 to be made, and then GM came out with another one...why hate on them? Personally, I'd take a CETA car anyday over a car with "cloud 9" blue anodized wheels...
Actually, i am a little pissed they didn't make a car exatly like mine(Black w/ silver heritage stripes ) , so i just had to make it myself!
Just a little rude for you to chop down someone interested in one of these cars....cause they ROCK in person, and are complete head-turners when they drive by!

and the paint is Pontiac Collector Yellow (and there is another car with the same color..ill find a pic), and the badges are collector edition ones, not 35th anniv ones. as for the wheels, the car was designed to have a complete yellow/black scheme, so chrome wouldnt have went with that. as for the comment on why they didnt make a 35th anniversary firebird...they did. no matter how you look at it, a ta is still a firebird

Yeah Right!!!
To the poster, it seems to me that if you're going to buy a collectors car, the only way it would be worth the price would be if you're truely going to collect the car. IE put it away somewhere safe and make people pay you to look at it. If you're looking for something you can drive around hunting Stangs in, then why the extra $15-20k for some nice paint? Buy yourself a regular one, and copy the paint job for $3k. That leaves you with a difference of $12-17 thousand dollars you could put into the car. Have you any idea how fast you could make that bad boy for $17k?! Just MHO. Good luck either way.
