The best thing for auto's is a new torque converter. And headers if you don't have them already.

I've never driven a car w/ an aftermarket stall, but it's what EVERYBODY on site recomends. I've always disliked the idea personally because I like driving on street tires. Good luck on your build up!!

3:42 gears on an auto trans and its stock???? Better check again, auto transmission didn't have that rearend gear as an option, its either a 2:73 or 3:23 if its still a stock rear. Stall converter all the way and get it dynotuned, screw the hand held programmers IMO.

maybe his car has been wrecked in the rearend and they put a stock rear from a m6 in it. this happened to me before i bought my car. I broke the r/p and when I got the damaged r/p it was a 3.42 ratio. I couldnt believe it either I thought maybe they made a mistake.I ended up checking the carfax place to find that out

aabila, you need a converter and a cam.that bitch will rock!!!

Very true, I was assuming a stock vehicle with no replacement of this piece. Your right though, converter, cam and headers if he doesn't already have them and its off to the races to smoke some snakes...

man the sky is the limit on cams. I personally have a G5 X2 from lg motorsports.which is pretty big for stock heads. you gotta make that descision for what size / kind.with a A4 youll probally need tuning w/ the larger size cam.but if get one try and match it with your converter for best performance.just call around to the sponsers on the right of the home page theyll set you up right.

Very cool, out of curiousity, why did you go wih 3:42 instead of 3:73? Did you notice any change from that gear swap alone?

hell yeah the 342 gave it a whole lot more power and did not change the gas mileage at all i had a few people tell me not to put 373 in it they said the 342 would be plenty oh and it was a bitch changing those gears out
