Question wanted latest gen t/a and trans question

i live in pennylvania, looking for a t/a, must be 6 speed. contact me if you have one or know of one.

my question: can someone please explain the difference between the m6 and t56, which is newer, what did they come in and which holds up better. also, what is the name of the auto trans in the latest gen t/a's?

new to the forum so this may be the wrong place to post. sorry if it is.

well, m6 or 6m just refers to 6 speed manual. its not a specific type of tranny. the t56 was the last tranny put in the fbodies. as for the automatic, from the factory it comes with the 4l60e

I think either tranny for the M6 is fine.

i'm located in indiana, pa, looks like about 250 miles west of you. i have a t/a at a dealership here but it's the dealership owners personal car, he said he'd sell it to me but he wants 19-20g, is that typical for an 02 ws6, 30k?

thanks for you help with the m6/t56 question, i never heard of anyone call a manual tranny an m6 or even an m5 for a 5 speed. must just be you gm guys

That price seems a little high for the mileage. I'll try to get it down to around 17k.

Also try to get it down but 19k or 20k is still very nice for a 02' WS6 IMO.

Get it for 17k you can come back and having bragging rights to a great car at a great price
