Tough question to answer. Me personally I would never buy a car with 100000 miles on it unless I was planning on ripping the motor out and doing a rebuild on it. Especially if your planning on some hard hitting runs down the track. You also need to take in consideration the trans, the condition of suspension if not replaced because they could be at their break point also. Also the condition of paint of course, unless your like me and just doesnt want any dents.
9000 seems like a very high price, unless it is in close to perfect condition. You say it has all the options possible and if it does that may be the reason for such a high price. Do you really need all options ask yourself? You could probably find a lower mileage camaro or firebird with less options for a lot cheaper, considering the fact my friend just bought a 2000 camaro z28, auto, no t-tops, tape deck, 16000 miles with a sticker price of 15,600. The options really blast the price Ill tell ya. As far as how they handle and if they perform good as a mustang. Yes they do perform excellently if not as good or better as each other, if your looking for the most horsepower and torque of the 2 the camaro or firebird is your choice. Just the fact that a site like this dedicated to the cars should give you a good idea about what can be done to these cars and how many people love the performance of them. Do a couple of searches and look around youll be impressed. Good Luck
If it was me in your situation and was thinking the same thing....I would not buy the car. Keep looking you wont find it over night or you may. It took me 2 years to find the one I wanted, and i also had saved a **** load of money by then also.

The piston slap doesnt worry most owners, unless it is constant, you are consuming large amounts of oil, and are having mechanical failure. Because the engine is built loosely it makes more power because of less friction. So you may hear a tapping or more of knocking sound when cold because the aluminum has contracted and made it looser than normal, as soon as it warms up the knock goes away because the piston and engine have expanded back to normal. Thats the basics as many discussion have been brought about on this topic.

Its a tough call, you have to make the decision yourself man. The mileage is the thing that scares me away from it, you say you want to have fun with it, but you have to remember either someone grandma drove it or some crazy car abuser had some fun with it for 100000 miles. Mustangs are a little cheaper they usually run around 8-10 grand from 50000-80000 miles. You ever think of buying a six banger and strapping a 200 shot of nitrous or supercharger too it haha that would be fun . Dont sweat it man Im sure you find something dont rush yourself, check autotrader.com thats where I found mine. Good Luck

How long a motor lasts depend on the owner or previous owner in this case. LS1's will last and can take a beating but if they aren't maintained right and taken care they can and do fail. Hell, that goes for all motors. Don't get it cause you may end up fixing a lot of stuff as it breaks. The tranny would be a major concern of mine. Try to find one with a blown motor and just buy a new LS1 or LS6 to put in it and your total may not be much more that 9-10000. All depends. Or get a plain one without all the options and lower miles. Look for one that isn't leather. That will raise the price quite a bit. Good luck on your decision.

This car is a automatic I dont want a stick..There is the car in my uper post with a pic and all the info..I have more pics in my e-mail the car looks really clean but then dealers have there ways of cleaning them up but for the seats look like brand new..Leather I like it sometimes but i hate it in the winter..I just want a good all around car to travel in and play with..And for mods like a new muffler, intake, pulleys and other small stuff thats it..I am sure i can get 13's with that maybe even some gears.. How hard is it to do the normal mantmince like spark plugs and wires??

the miles mainly. and you can do alot better. i know you said 'its loaded' but all ls1 ta's come with ttops, leather, power seat, and stuff like that. so its not anything special. and for 9-10k, you can find a better car with alot less miles. now, if it was your grandmother selling you the car with 101k, then it wouldnt be a probem. but some guy couldve beat the **** outta that car and had it heavily modified, and just put it back to stock before he sold it.
