Default Good deal on LS1 T/A?

I hope this is the right section to post this. But anyway I have been looking for an LS1 Trans Am for a while now and I have stumbled upon a 1998 Trans Am. Here is the link http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ct=yes&lang=en
Do you think this is a fair price, I was going to offer 10k and go from there. Let me know what you thinks

Thanks, Dan

I picked up my white 98 formula at the begining of this month for $6200,new tires,82,000 miles. The interior of the hatch is a bit beat up and it's not a one owner car,but she is plenty strong.$11k sounds pretty high, lowball him and continue looking. For what it's worth I drove nearly 300 miles to buy mine.

Yeah it says original owner and he is sending me pictures of every part of the car so if it looks good I will be taking the trip to Delaware, which is about 100 miles from me.

that seems bout right, maybe talk him down 500 or so. I dont understand how everyone else on here gets their f-body for so damn cheap, is it jus me or is it any f-body in the northeast is alot more expensive that others across the united states. i paid $14,700 for a 98' wit 58k and i got other people tellin me they paid like 12k for a newer one with less miles. wtf

that is not even a fair comparison...z28's sell for MUCH cheaper than trans am's...and not everybody's f-body is in the same condition...some people have flaws that they get used to and don't even recognize and some people are crazy about everything...so a nice f-body to one person is not even close to nice to another...you have to realize that...to answer the question i think that is a fair deal...if it's in real good condition...

What's it worth to you? That's all that really matters in the end. What does it book out for? Ideally, the buyer and seller should walk away happy. Good luck on your purchase.

As long as it is in very good condition, runs and drives smoothly with no problems and was very well taken care of I won't mind paying that much for it. Thanks for trying to run the vin, if I get it I will send it to you tonite or tomorrow. Every other LS1 T/A I have seen in the NorthEast is over 14k with about 50-60k and I just dont want to pay that much for a car right now because of school and I want to be able to go away whenever I want without having to worry about making a car payment. Thanks for all your input so far.

It does seem like the cars in the northeast and mid-atlantic go for more money then in the rest of the country.

If there had been a way for me to get back into a NBM trans am for the same payment i have right now that's what i would have done. Unfortunately that just wasn't possible. Oh well, guess i'll just have to enjoy this GTO....

Well, did you get it? If it is good shape seems like a decent deal to me, I paid 14,000 for my 2000 Z28 with 32,000.

Well I am hoping someone can run a carfax report on it before I make any decision. Here is the vin 2G2FV22G3W2225980, he said it has a clear title with no accidents and is all original so that is a big plus and the price isn't to bad for me. So if someone can run the report and email it to me at F1CamaroSS@aol.com that would be great.
Thanks a lot, Dan.
