Default I want LS1 owner opinions on this.

Towards the end of the year and possibly even sooner, I am looking to upgrade. Should I buy an LS1 or convert my LT1 to an LT4? I plan on doing at least bolt-ons to both vehicles, and I'm wondering what some other opinions are. Honestly, I could go either way, but I have wanted an LS1 for a long time.

Go drive an LS1 and then make your decision. When I was looking, I drove LT1 after LT1 looking for a nice one with low miles. On a whim went to look at a low mile LS1 and after the test drive I knew I wasn't going to be happy with the LT1.

Oh, I have test driven an LS1. ******* awesome. It even had 2.73's! I've enjoyed entertaining the idea of having an "LT4." Although, it was mainly for nostalgia. Ha.

Ha. I know. But, converting to an LT4 would be pretty sweet. Have to love an LS1 iron block equivalent.

Just bought my first Ls1 earlier this month, and I have to say that this is not true. I ended up looking back. In the rearview, at EVERYBODY. Man, this thing is sweet.

well to compare the two, an LS1 has great reliability and a freakin awesome upperend powerband. On the other hand, an LT4 is more powerful than an LS1. Its safe to say, and LT4 has atleast 50 more hp than an ls1, but even still the LS1 has enormous potential, and with a ls6 intake and long tubes to true duals, you will probably be close to that LT4. I would say go with the LS1, but hey, im kinda biased!!

In my opinion the LS1 has more potential than the LT1's, but I dont know as much about the LT series engines as I do about the LS1's. either way, good luck!
