98 Firebird WS6
So in my quest for an F-body, I found a 98 WS6 Firebird. 65k miles, LS1/Auto. Car is essentially fully loaded. Asking price at the dealer is $12k.
What do you I need to look for? Hoping to go see it for myself later this afternoon if I can get away from work.
Have already seen pics and had someone drive it. Car seems to run good and strong.
Seems you guys are the ones to talk to about f-bodies.

hmm i don't know about that...that price seems like a deal for a WS6 trans am's are more than camaros by a good margain and the ws6 holds value quite well since everyone loves the hood and they look like a totally different car...just look for leaks and any subframe damage...check around the corners to see if it's been repainted (it would be rough) good luck

Good link. Thanks for that. So check for leaks, unusual noises. The kid who went to look at it said it looked like it had a scratch/repair done on one of the quarters, but couldn't notice it w/o looking very closely at it.
My 99 Yukon has 87k miles on it w/ NO problems, I've always wanted an f-body, but I'm sort of leary of getting rid of it. Seems some of these cars are rolling **** boxes.

BTW, what kind of resale value could I see in 8 months with 20k more miles on it? What would a 98 WS6 very well taken care of be worth with 85k miles?
All this of course considering there are no other major issues with the car.

Well test drove it yesterday. Beautiful car, probably nice nicest car f-body I've driven (drove 2 other camaros)...but my knees kept knocking the dash. I'm 6' 3" 285lb and it just drove me crazy having my knee hit the dash/console.
I did drive an 05 WRX, that was a fun car, way more than I want to spend though.
Thanks for your guy's help.
Looks like I'll stick to Camaro's.
