New Trans Am M6 Owner Need Mod Tips
Whats up brotheran
I just picked up a 2000 TA(non ramair, non ws6, t-tops) 6 speed with 65,000 miles. The previous owners installed a flowmaster muffler. When I bought the car not even 10 hours after I had the car the clutch blew on the 3rd to 2nd shift I was so stressed thank the car gods for telling to get the extended warranty lol. So GM put in a new clutch disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing, slave cylinder, and throw out bearing. I had an old Hypertech unit laying around so I traded that in for my TA.Also I replaced the all the shocks with the monroe sense it track. What other mod should be next? I know airfilter lids will be a topic but there are so many. Thanks for any comments

I would suggest getting rid of the chokemaster. They do sound good, but the flow like crap. You should consider picking up a set of longtubes, catted y or offroad y depending on what you want, and then a full catback. Or go true duals off of some lts.

Do searches for free mods and first mods. Read all the stickies, especially in the new enthusiast section.
Edit: PLEASE do not ask any more questions until you search and read the stickies.
BTW: You'll love the car, welcome aboard.

Read the thread about mods people wished they hadn't done too, save some headaches on buying crap.
For example
Most feel a MAF is a waste, unless you know someone who can truly tune for it.
Ported TB is good
LS6 intake ( I don't think you have it )
Lid - you'll find most flow the same, a lid is a lid
Exhaust - covered above
Suspension etc, subframes, better LCA's, LCA relocation brackets if you are lowered, adjustable panhard rod if you are lowered.
Modding depends on what you like; straight line or twisties. Check out the autox section and good luck with the TA!!

Have any of you guys have had that Bo White port your TB? Also I am looking into a ram air hood is it worth the 1,000 when its all said and done for and will it help? I dont intend on doing the free mods cause its not my style no offense to any one but I like the clean look of a bolt on or remove and replace.I am in the country of California so I dont think long tube headers will benefit me in the way of smog and convience. I know edelbrock has some shorties plated nickle then I can have my exhaust guy make the rest. One of you guys said ditch the muffler and go cat back which is cool but which one Borla,Magnaflow, dynomax, ofcourse I would like the best of both worlds cheap and best performing..
And a foot note Last night I rolled up on a 05 gto and it was some old guy with a passenger he didnt do anything which is sad you when buy a 36K + car and you drive 35mph. I should have figured it still had the new car plate on it. I did throw a 4G rev at his window lol

Not everybody is into street racing their car just because it can run a 13 second 1/4. You should read up on the free mods and do some of them, you obviously need a little education on the subject. Shorties are essentially a waste of money IMO. Maybe if you can find some used ones.....
Cat-back choice: Read the stickies and search. You will be fine on power so long as you don't get a flowmaster and fine on price if you avoid the expensive crap like B&B, GMMG and Corsa. (GMMG does sound good though)
