Default Anyone Know Where To Rent A Hypertech Power Programmer

its for a 2000 v6 but i just wanted to rent one or borrow one if someone had one or knows where i can find one..i dont wanna do a custom tune for the sixer and i dont wanna pay four hundred for it...any ideas..will the v8 system work on the v6 since its obd2 also??

I wouldnt even want to own one, never mind renting one! Hypertech programmers are VERY limited. And your not going to find one to use, or rent. They are car specific, once they are used they can only be used on that car. Unless the computer is set back to factory. After that another car can use it, ((providing its the requires the same programmer)) but only that car can use it after that.
Lets say you reprogram your car. Its not good on another car, since another car has a different vin. The ones you see for sale used, the owner set his computer back to stock, then the programmer will work on another car ((again providing both cars are the same!!))

As said, they are car specific. So I don't think anyone is dumb enough to let you rent it, because then it wouldn't work on their car.

ok well let me ask then...i appreciate the responses..but i know the ls1edit is available to the v8's but they wont work with managing a v6 will they??

ya, hyper tech only works on one vin, the programming must be deleted from the original vin to work on the next car, call some speed shops about computer tuning I am sure if should not be hard to find one
