Default New 2000 SS owner in OK... LT2??

Purchased a 2000 Z28 SS and was told by the dealer it had an LT2 motor. My cousin has a 1999 Z28 and it has a LS1. What is the difference if any?? He had to be at work this week so I can not reach him. Thanks for the help

lt2 , lol! you have a secret GM motor huh. I hate car salesmen. When I my lt1 ls1's were somewhat new and he said there no difference "both vette motors", lol! Iasked why the intakes looked so different and he said "well yeah that's the only thing that changed". Total *** clown , oh yeah I told him I was gonna use it to drag race and he said better get the 6 spd?? I told him ahhhh I like to do it the hard way with an auto, lol!

You obviously hasnt looked around much on this site.......

This is the be all, end all, meccah of LS1 vehicals, maintainance, racing, modification, cleaning, and driving. That button up top that says "search" can reveal to you WAY more information than you will ever care to know about. If you wish to know how many feet of wire there is between the license plate light and the PCM, its probably got its own thread already.

I'm sure we can tell ya how to change the oil

If you cast your eye toward the top of this section of the forum, namely the "stickies", NAMELY the one by JRP. You will learn all kinda specs, and differences between each model.

most of the time if the salesmen know their cars backwards and forwards...they will move on to other jobs that pay better for their knowledge. A truly good car salesman just loves his job and elects to stay there. he knows his cars backwards and forwards and can tell you near anything and if he cant, he can tell you who does know. knowing when to refer someone is one of the best qualities in a salesman
