Default how can i tell if i got a ls1 or ls6

how can i tell which engine my car got i want to know if it is the ls1 or ls6 its a 2001 ws6

its a ls1

some 02's had ls6 blocks, but they were still ls1 engines.

it MIGHT be an ls6 block but wont be an ls6 engine. the block wont make a difference in performance.

i was told 01/02 TA mostly all has ls6 heads or whatever.

maybe a ls6 intake manifold or block but neither make a huge difference.

Nope. '01-02 f-bodies have the LS6 intake manifold and a limited number have a LS6 block.

You don't have an LS6 engine. If you want to verify if you have an LS6 block or not look here.

Yeah, read the thread posted above. It'll tell you everything you need to know. Some '01's did come with the LS6 block, as well as '02's. Like they said, it wont help your performance at all, but it's cool to have, just because it is rare. Read the thread!

A quick way to check for LS6 blocks is to look for the little bullseye stamp on the passenger side block deck. If there is no bullseye, then = LS6. From the blocks I ran the casting number on, i have found this method to hold true.
