is this car worth the money? I didnt ask how much it would cost to fix it, but with the damage that you can see is it worth it?

I wouldn't think so. Not a rare car (cloth, single exhaust). Another $4k and you can probably buy one in good shape, never been wrecked.

the motor and tranny are prolli the only thing worth anything cause the isnt anything special just like "gtarist" said it has cloth interior and a single exhaust, i dont really think that its worth it unless u know where u could get the parts real cheap and u dont know if the suspensin or chassis is still in good shape or not. by the time u got done u could have a enough money in to it to the point where u could find another one that hasnt been wrecked with the same miles and leather interior. id keep looking

Actually, that single exhaust system is the only rare thing about that car. Only the '98 SS/WS6 had it, no other year.

Cloth vs leather is a preferance issue, usually the stock GM leather doesn't hold up as well as the cloth does in these cars. Leather looks a little nicer though

In the end, I'd probably pass on the deal, unless you plan to buy it and part the car out....then you'd probably make your money back and then some.

Not to get into a pissin' match, but here's my thoughts:

Leather is an option, as was the dual exhaust. In general, more options=worth more.

Of course, that's just the way I think. But I drink a lot of cheap bourbon, so take it for what it's worth.

You can get a car that requires the same amount of work which that does for around 2k.

Can't argue that, it's true. Leather would be worth a tad more for resale. I was just speaking more in terms of what someone might prefer, rather than what would be worth more.

Just not sure if I'd want stock F-body leather again, I've had it in two 4th gens and my feelings are mixed. The leather looks better, but the cloth just holds up better with a lot less maintenance....plus the cloth is more comfortable on hot days.

Don't worry man, you're a step above me. Cheap bourbon might be an upgrade for me.

Dude I buy wrecked SS Camaro's all the time (some a lot worse then that wrecked) for like 5400.. You could certainly part that car out and make some good money on it. That is if you're willing to take the time to do that. Otherwise fix it and sell it, not wrecked too horribly. If I was in PA i would have already bought that thing.

I am wanting to do a LS1 swap into my 93 and i was just wondering, since everyone is sayin part it out, whether i would have more money into buying all the parts to do that or whether just buy that car and put all those parts on the 93. I am going from a v-6 to the Ls1

Trust me, you can get the same condition for alot less... I personally wouldnt pay any more than $2000 for that. Theres plenty of places to look around, and if you happen to have any car dealer friends, talk to them about taking you to a dealer-only auction and work out a deal with them.

As stated by a previous poster, single exaust was stock on 98 SS & WS6. My 98 still had it when I bought it; my 1st mod was getting rid of it in favor of a Magnaflow catback. Single pipe just looked weird.

THAT CAR IS WAY OVER PRIZED.

It would be easy to find a clip as it is rear end collision and so many Camaros are hit in the front.

If you are going to do all the work yourself and you just really want that one car it is worth it. Otherwise, buy it and part it out! You are going to end up spending all this money on a car no one will want because A> It is a 1998. B> Rebuilt Title.
