stock for stock: t/a vs. z28
hey guyz whats up. I'm still searching for my black a4 t/a that i want. i have been on these forums alot latley and it seems like alot of you guys say the z28 is faster than the t/a. is this true? either way i am going to get an a4, ive had enough of driving stick. thanx

My money is on the A4 from a dig. Too many crappy M6 drivers IMO. Besides I am willing to wager my shift kit will more than compensate for even a good power shifting M6 driver.

see, my friend has an m6 98 ss canaro. the best that he can run is a 14.0x . he cant even hit the 13's in an ss camaro. and hes not the only one. i have seen an 03 cobra run a 14.4 vs. my boss who has a 91 5.7 tpi z28 (14.66). it all depends on the driver. there are way more lousy m6 driver out there then good ones. theres always too many excuses "my clutch this" bad launch that, i missed a gear blah blah blah . if you lose you lose. its a shame that most people tend to put shame on automatic owners. "nice car man thats awesome...oh wait its automatic. alot of ppl dont understand. the truth is i have had 2 mustang gt 5 spd and theyve been alright. everyone seems to think that the m6 is superior to the a4. well not when your riding around with your girlfirend(wink!) or trying to smoke a ciggarette while in city traffic. to each his own thogh. the point is i want to be an ls1 owner!!!

Bro that **** pisses me off! I have a 99 a4 all stock except for flowmasters and ive spanked zs and gts left and right! alot is on the driver too on an A4 take off and the 123 shift. I had a m5 firebird and that **** gets old no road head with the m6 so even if it i the m6 is funner some times you can compensate lol

lmao!!! now thats what im talkin about. a4 or m6 the car just looks good and thats enough to get you some acion anyways! but i cant wait to get my a4 and show my m6 ss friend what an ls1 can really do.

But in response to the original question...Stock for stock, it is definitely a driver's race. The T/A weighs a little more, but not enough to cause the outcome of the race

Look 'em all over good and go for the one that grabs YOU. Different colors grab each one of us differently. Different colors look better and worse to different folks on either of the body styles.

i have a 2000 T/A m6 and i out ran my friends 2001 Z28 A4. if you can shift fast and not miss 3rd you can out run a auto. but at the track you have to watch out because auto's wupass

Even if the Trans Am weighs a little bit more, it's worth it! GET A TRANS AM!!! Everyone has a Camaro.... Get something that not everyone has! Stock vs. stock... it's a drivers race... a lot depends on the options too.... does the auto have 2.73 gears or 3.23s.... Even stock vs. stock isn't always far because one may be fully loaded and another may be a base model.... but it's still an LS1... only the best V8 motor on the market.. you can't go wrong if there is an "LS1 Inside"

ok.. i have a m6 stock z28 or what i say is pretty much stock.. it does depend on d/a to run into good numbers.. where i live its **** for d/a and the best ive got is a 13.5.. im not the best driver but id have to give my self props cause most a4 z's run 14.1 to 14.2 stock. ive seen m6's hit 13.8-13.9 stock here.. as for stock vs. stock it would be up to both drivers.. and ive seen a4's with crappy drivers. hahaha .. but at the track if u get me out the whole i dont care what any one says my 2nd and 3rd gear pulls harder then ne a4 ive been in..
