Default 1999 T/A for sale, I will be looking at tonight

There's an '99 T/A for sale by my house, I've been in the market for a car for a long time, I currently have a DD and I'm going to sell it to Carmax for about 4grand, I also have a '66 'Stang w/ a little 289. Anyways I've been looking for another pony, but I have always been a fan of the F-body on T/A, esp with Ram -Air, and this one has it!
It's a pretty Red with T-Tops, Leather, CD, Automatic And has about 50k on it, they are asking 12,500, but I think I can get it down to 10,500-11k, which is all I can afford. I have only seen the outside.
Anybody give me some tips when I look at it tonight? I am going to try and test drive it and at least look under the hood, if possible going to get a compression test from Goodyear.
The tires looked good. Few Scratches on the hood.
I am going to ask him/her if they were the first owner or if they bought it, this could help me find out if it was abused as a child
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
-Cory

I have a 01 with 9000 miles on it and have already replaced the window motor. So you if the window goes up and down slow youmight have to do that. It is an easy fix though about 40 min in the driveway. The other thin is the headlight motor. The plastic gears get worn out so if the headlight sticks that can be fixed with new metal gears. Make sure the t-tops don't leak if they do get them to come down on the price. Tell them you have to get the seals replaced.

Dont worry about it being an auto, they can hang with a 6 speed pretty easy.

I'd shoot for 10-10,500 for a 99 t/a with 50k miles
that's just my 2 cents, but there are things to replace on these cars like the window motors and tires .

Autos are nice for these cars once you slap in a shift kit and firm the shifts up

I've always been a fan of the 5 or 6 speeds in cars.
When talking to the guy tonight, what other questions should I ask?
The window motors are bad, what else should I test out?

piston slap!
brake rotor warping
oil usage-low tension rings in some years would use oil 1-1.5qts every 1000miles or so in rare cases sometimes even 1qt per 500miles.

10,5 would be a pretty could deal. check the door/front fender gap to make sure it wasnt lifted wrong. and as mentioned, headlight and window motors...besides that you should be pretty good. the 4l60e isnt the best of trannies though. some last forever, some crap out early, so be sure to pay attention to shift firmness, bogging and what not. good luck with it.
