...adding bolt ons to a stock 128,000 mile LS1? I'm picking this car up on saturday (WS6 w/ M6) and I'm definitely not going to want to keep it stock. I did a heads/cam/intake on a 150,000 mile stock LT1 in a Caprice and it held up for quite awhile (to the tune of 13.42@105 in the 1/4). I just don't want to be blowing this thing up a month after I get it. I am pretty aggressive with my driving and I know how fun these cars are to drive, lol. This is my second 4th gen car - the first was a yellow 93 Formula - and my 6th F-body overall. Just curious what people think about modding a high mileage car. I know on LT1s, you can do bolt ons no problem without any longevity issues. I found out the hard way, however, that doing a heads/cam setup on a high mileage LT1 can cause problems due to core shift issues. Spun a main bearing. Doh!

Go for it. In some Chevy Magazine a few years ago, they took a fourth gen camaro, which was stock, and put alot of bolt ons on it. It had 100 thousand miles. They gave it hell at the track. I'll call my dad later and get the specifics on the article, like what all they did to it. All in all, people seem to agree that the LS1 is a pretty reliable motor. Although, I'd stay away from the juice.....

I don't believe in running juice anyway... any power adder I might add would be an STS turbo kit, but I'll put a motor in it before that point.

if it's man made, it has to fail at somepoint. it has no choice. any parts you put on this motor can be transfered to the next. drive the **** out of it!

I doubt thats a real WS6, why does it have the formula spoiler? Id guess they threw the hood on and maybe a WS6 badge and are trying to pass it off as a true WS6. Im all but positive the WS6 got the lifted rear spoiler didnt they? Looking at it more the back edge of that hood doesnt seem quite right for some reason? Im sure the WS6 owners in here will chime in soon.
