Who on this site is honest
I have a 99 ta and I was just wondering how much power I should have at the wheels and at the crank. It is stock except for a borla cat back exhaust and an air lid. What its 1/4 time would be if my tires hooked up perfectly. It is an a4 with 3.23 rear. I have been looking around this site and people say they are running in the high 12's with only a few mods, r they full of it or are ta's that fast. I talked to my friends dad and he races cars and says that I should be happy if my car runs a low 14.

None of us, wrong site.
You can read through a site with 65,000 members(most race cars too) to get your stats or listen to your friend's dad who "races cars." To answer your question you're probably looking at mid to low 13s as is. RWHP is likely around 300, give or take an average of 10 or so. Do some more looking around here and you'll likely find the answers you're looking for.

I have a 99 TA with borla catback, lid, and k&n filter. Ive only been to the track once and i have terrible terrible tires right now. Also, i have 2.73 gears and my best time was a 13.8. Many people claim to run that or better stock so it just depends. You have more aggresive gears than i do and there is no way your tires are any worse than mine so you should at the very least see mid to low 13's. But like said above, there is only one way to find out.

Your friends dad is thinking of LT1's, for an LS1 he is, well wrong. Your car should put about 300 give or take 10 to the wheels, then 1/4 with the 3.23's I'd say 13.5-13.4 is a safe bet. Some LS1's are in the 12's bone stock, but they are mostly, if not all, 01-02 M6 cars, I know of one 99 here locally though. Not saying that 01 02's have a gross amount of power more than the 98-00, but they do have maybe 5-15 more, better clutch setups etc. But like mentioned, the 'Search' feature is your friend!

I heard the same thing for my LS1's track times. My second cousin said low 14's would be damn good with the horrible track prep. He was pretty accurate. Most of my 60's were 2.25+. I got a best of 13.86 at 103 with a 2.261 60'. At a nice trakc where it hooked up very well I wouldn't doubt mid 13's are easily acheivable on a stock car.
Also, my car seems to be a dud, unless everyone else on this entire damned site is a liar, but I only put down 271 with a lid and cut-out. it works out to about 305 bhp when I was stock, so I guess GM was right on the money, and my expectations were way high.
But it's only like $50 for a dyno, so you can get you numbers pretty easily. Tracks are harder because mine for instance is about 2 hours away, and I live in Miami... not exactly in the middle of the desert.

As stated, you should be making around 300rwhp (which means what, 350ish at the crank?), as long as your car isn't too far from the usual curve... give or take 10hp, but add a little bit for that lid. I don't know what your friend's dad is used to... but a stock LS1 in average conditions (elevation, temperature, etc) should be squarely in the low 13s range... 13.1 to 13.4, somewhere in there... that's given a decent driver. Your A4 with the "perfect launch" you suppose should hit the lower end of that easily. Good LS1 drivers have taken the stock car to 12.9ish, but on the other hand, there are a fair number of people who're in the high 13s or low 14s range. It all depends on your driving and conditions, but the machinery is still good for low 13s.

My 2002 Firehawk bone stock went 13.2 @ 107 mph with a crappy 2.1 60 foot, and almost no traction through 2nd and spun tires on the 3rd gear power shift.
I still have the slip to prove it!!!

My silver one was 13.63 @ 105mph 2.02 60ft. with a 98 automatic Formula... Bone stock even the paper filter on decent street tires.. the one you see here will run at least high 12's will have timeslips to prove it soon.

'98 Z28, A4, 2.73's. I think I had Mobil 1 and a K&N filter. It ran 13.52@104.2 . It was pretty much "middle of the pack" as far as LS1's go. That was 2 years ago. Now I have a tune, 3.42's, a Fuddle 3000 stall with 2.0 STR, LT's, ORY, SLP Dual/Dual, lid, and M/T ET street radials and I've only improved my times to a 12.845@107.07 For what's been done to it, everyone says it should run much better than it does. (but it doesn't!!)

If an LS1 runs low 14's either the driver sucks total *** or the car itself is a major dud.
But if you are racing in high altitude like Colorado...........that could be expected.
But not near and below sea level in good air.
