Its not really a Carbon Fiber piece, it just has the "CF look" on the outside. Completely cosmetic.

Decent lid though, I like mine.

Okay, first of all, they're not all the same. Please, please, please don't get the whisper lid! The reason i say this is beacuase it odes not ift properly. THe front clips do not stay latched and is not exactly a giid fit. Also, if you get a smooth bellow like mine, it won't fit together at all. You can do what you want, but i recommend another brand, and it's jsut bubbled black plastic, not carbon fiber

^^ is right, my whisper lid sits awkward on the lower airbox. Kind of annoying. Spend the extra 20 bucks for the better fitting lid.

Bullshit, I have the "carbon fiber" whisper lid and first of all it has been on my car for two years, NO fitment probs, NO clamps coming off, etc., etc,

If someone says its just "Bubbled plastic" then they have never even SEEN one. The plastic is smooth as a babies *** it just "looks" like carbon fiber.

Also, I have the SLP smooth belows and it works with this lid just fine.

I dont know if it is the best lid or not, I have heard good things about the MTI lids, but dont let someone tell you the whisper lid doesnt work because that is just not true.

Here's mine. It fits just fine, and the only time the clamps come off is when I take them off.

First of all, that's not the Whisper Lid, Second, i didn't say SLP Smooth Bellow, so go back where you came from and get back on this guy;s topic. Did you even look at the one he said he wanted at thiunder racing, cause i did and i've got it, you don't But thanks for being a jerk and not knowing what you're talking about

Your welcome! If you say that what I have is not a whisper lid then you are full of ****. (Tbyrne part# CFWLID)

Also the SLP smooth bellows is one of if not the MOST stiff bellows out there and if it works with that then it will work with anything.

I am not going to get in a pissing match with you because you are obviously too intelligent for me...

As for looking at the one he wants, YES I did. Mine is just for the LS1 and the one he wants is for the V6. (but you knew that right...)

So, as for getting back on his topic...he didnt ask what lid you wanted him to buy, he asked what the difference was between the carbon fiber one and a regular one.

As I have purchased the carbon fiber one, I gave him information based on MY experience.

I agree w/ xtinct tho, Ive been looking at lids like the SLP ones cause ive heard they are the better brand but on their site it only says its for a v8. So i searched for a v6 specific one and the thunderracing whisper lid one came up.

Im not gonna get the smooth bellow cause a lotta people have said its not that great.

THe CF on your lid looks great, I dont think ill mind spending the extra 30 on it.

If the clips were popping off, you didn't have it on right. A VERY common mistake.

Exactly.

Whipers Lids fit just fine with a stock air bellow (never had SLP bellows so I can't speak on that). There is NOTHING wrong with the Whipser lid, and they are NOT an inferior product. I've owned 2 (non-CF) Whisper Lids on 3 different LS1 cars, the first one was on my '99 Z28 and my '00 WS6....lasted 5 years with ZERO issues before I sold it with the car. The one on my '98 Z28 fits perfect as well.

Rumors about the Whisper Lid not fitting properly are just that.....rumors (due to installer error).
