What can I do with 12K?

What can I do with 12K?
I would like to purchase a Z28/Trans Am, 2001-2002.
I want 65k or less miles
If it is a Z28 it must be T56, if its a TA, A4 or M6 is fine.
Most extensive mods I would buy with are Lid/Catback type stuff.
I am just testing the waters to see whats up, will be buying in 6-12 months and just doing research currently.
I want to spend 12K+TTL
Can I get what I want for what I want?

NO, its POS and I will never own another Ford product. Nothing that we can detect is wrong with the car. Just slow. Even a compression test revealed less than 5% variation.

because T/A is sexier!

I almost bought 99 TA A4 on cars.com. It had 43,000 on it for 12,500obo. It was a one owner so it was CLEAN. but it sold before I could get my paws on it. So you can find really good deals. Get a TA. They are more sexier.

just curious...why 65k or less? just seems like a odd number. You should be able to find a z28 for that much pretty easily. I got my fully loaded 01 ss 2 years ago with 50k on it for 14k...it just depends on how many are in your area.

Its just an arbitrary #. Yeah, I live near Dallas/H-town so I think I will have a LOT to choose from, no?

don't be afraid of mileage either..I bought mine at 50k jan 05...I've put 35k on it in that year and 8 months and it hasn't missed a beat....but for 12k, you should get a pretty good one. or you could buy a high mileage one for 7-8k and drop in a forged 346ci motor..sicne most short blocks liek that go for around 3k. just something to thing about.

Best 60' was 2.15, so im not THAT bad of a driver (street tires). I just dont mods cars, they perform like ****, I have horrid luck, even when hiring professionals to do it and using brand new parts from reputable manufacturers/builders. I know some of you have modded cars that run great, but thats not for me. I want reliability and am tired of wasing money. I just want an M6 Ls1 with a cat-back and a lid and be done with it. Will pull 95% of what I race and do it getting 28mpg and having great looks and manners.
fair enough..I'm in the same boat..had modded cars in the past that were unreliable, but a forged bottom end with stock top end will last for ever..when your stock engine dies.... but liek I said, these cars love mileage.
you ever dyno or tune your car? that sucks what happened to you, my friend turboed his 99 gt and it jsut went down hill from there.... that was after all of the n20 accidents.... lol...

i got my 2001 firebird formula A4 for $14,500 w/24,9000 miles. they also gave me $1,100 more for a trade than my car was worth.
i wound up paying $10,600 for a car blue booked at $16k, not including a brand new set of 275/40/17 tires, ZO6 rims, corsa exhaust and an SLP lid.
i had to drive 125 miles to get it, but good deals are out there if you look hard enough.

I got my 99 T/A with 31,000 miles for $13,500 last year in March, I had to drive up to CT to get it, but it was worth the trip. So I say you def. will be able to find one with 65,000 miles in that price range

Hahaha, is there any REAL advantage to a 01-02 over a 98-00. I thought the LS6 PCV and the tightened main clearances of the 01-02 would give me less oil usage and slapping and longer engine life?
