um 1st answer is forever is maintained properly and treated right...even with abuse they will live long enough till you get bored of them (if thats even possible for some bird owners)...and 2nd you will murder the following cars if you drive her correctly: mustang gt (any year), nissan 350z, infiniti g35, those hemi dodge cows, some older corvettes c4 and under obviously, and a bunch of other cars you'll be surprised what an LS1 is capable of stock or with a few bolt ons hope all goes good with ur ride

Any car will run forever if you keep fixing it.
To get the most life out of any car, common sense and proper maintenance are key.
Some examples; don't beat on a cold motor, change fluids/filters regularly, etc.

You will be able to take some stock C5s depending on if your motor is a factory freak or not. I wouldn't put money on it though. These motors withstand a lot of abuse as long as you keep it within the stock revs and don't hook in first gear after dropping 3k or so rpms on a 10 bolt.

you won't be able to beat anything if you can't drive. A shitty sohc dodge neon will beat you if you can't drive and he can. So, its all about the driver and practice, jsut because someone tells you that you can beat a 350z(or any other car), doesn't mean that you actually can.
for example, typically these cars will run mid 13s in the q/m. My first time out, i was running mid 14s. I thought dumping the clutch at 3-4k and flooring it off the line was quick. now i'm down to a 13.5 at 108.

if an LT1 can live until 200k+, an LS1 can live just as long.
mine is at 148k and is whipping ***. so put that into perspective and the newer tech of the LS1.
my girlfriend's A4 LS1 is at 135k and is great so far. i just dont like it because its A4.

the A4 will save your rear end for awhile, and you wont have to worry about a clutch every 6 months to 12 months.

not in the case of spec clutches look on the M6 forum, and everyone is either changing them out or replacing the discs.
im never teaching my gf or anyone on my car. my centerforce chatters alot and it slips on and off depending on how hot it gets. lately it isnt slipping. but before it did. it was put on last november.

and you have the ratio too.
drag racing:
for every 1 clutch you replace, you use 2 10 bolts.
but for street driving, its every 2 girlfriends for each clutch lol

As long as you change all of your fluids regurarly your bird should keep flyin, mine is at 106k and no problems so far besides a cracked radiator,
And the answer to ur second question you can also beat the crap out of SRT4's and the Cobalt SS's, if you know how to drive your car correctly, so get in lots of practice and good luck!
