if there isnt a WU8 code then it isnt a true SLP SS.

Just a thought if WU8 is not on the door, maybe the drivers side door was changed since it has a salvaged title...ask a dealer to run the VIN.

the only problem is the door vin matches the cars vin and the vin inside the engine bay
but yeah good idea ill go to the dealer and see whats going on with it. 8500 still isnt bad for it but i could have done better for a non salvage. the zo6 rims i think are off of an actual vette since they say gm but not to sure on that

If the SPID sticker VIN matches the car's VIN but the SPID sticker doesn't have the WU8 RPO, then it's not a real SS.

Sounds like you have a lightly modded Z28....What is wrong with that if it is the worst case scenario?

really it all depends on why it's a salvaged title. look the car over GOOD and make sure it's straight and all the panels match up, etc
i still don't think i'd pay that for a salvage though. look through the for sale section on here and you'll find similar or even better deals.

what happened is it got nailed on the back right corner and i checked out the body work and the guy showed me the welds you could see in the door jam and a little section inside the hatch cant tell with it down though. all in all it looks pretty stock body wise.

how many miles? you should be able to pick up a decent non salvaged car. A salvaged brand usually cuts the value in half, so good luck selling it, most people will run as soon as they hear salvage. also, your insruance company may be dicks about trying to insure a car that was salvaged.

Personally i wouldn't pay 8500 for a salvage titled LS1 fbody. You can find Clean titled Z28's for 8500-9500 if you just keep you eyes open.

Get out of the deal. I bought a higher mileage 2000 SS (WU8) for $7800. Bought it almost a year ago, it had 110,000 miles and has 116,000 now.
