Default Just Got my Car.

Hey guys whats up? I just got my camaro z28 1999. I was wondering where i could get some cheap mods. i am new to working on cars. i have been talking to some people, and theynhave all said that some headers would be the right choice as well as K&N intake. im pretty low on money so do you have any suggestions to where i may purchase these either used or cheap. any opinios are appreciated.

Lid comes first! Then a cat-back/and or cutout.

Do it in whatever order you want man... it's your ride. If you want the sound of the exhaust 1st then go for it! But yeah, check out the for sale section!

do a lid and k&n you will notice a difference in power.the stock silencewr and lid are very restrictive.it will only set you back 150 dollars.also you can do a search on porting the tb.also agood cheap mod.then do a good catback.good headers and ory arent cheap.dont buy shorties or mids they dont make enough power to fool with.good luck with the car

Heads first? No. Do basic mods first. Lid, catback, and a set of 4.10's in my car dropped 7/10ths in the 1/4 mile. 4.10 gears are a great first mod.

little suspension never hurt anyone. the first mod i really did on my SS was a new 9 inch moser rear...$2500 price tag but at least i wont have to worry about it anymore. other that that, intake and exhaust is always a good idea.

what do you mean full exhaust kit? If it has full exhasut then you already have headers...so im going to assume you mean a catback? Anyway...I would buy a lid and then look for some sticky rubber.

i have always been told do from ground up and front back to front, but in ur case just do basic bolt-on's.

Is it an auto or manual? You may want to do gears if it is an auto first...

Congrats on the ride. Watch yourself in the gear department...I went with 4.10s in my A4 and it was great fun to play with, BUT I found myself wishing I had just a tad more restraint and had gone with 3.73s. If its an auto car go 3.73s...4.10s if an M6..and trust me..thats the advice you will get from most on the gear side of things. But all in all, like the rest said, go with the lid etc. simple mods first..and then go from there. Above all...be honest with yourself about the intended use of the car...meaning if its almost never gonna see a track, dont make it a car that sucks to drive everyday.
