Default What can i do to get my car faster??

I just bought a black 98 trans am convertible with a 108,000 miles. it is all factory besides flowmaster exhaust and k&n filter. What can i do to make my car faster. I do not have too much money to spend right now. does anyone know where i could get a factory ram air hood or a aftermaket ram air hood that fits.--Brandon

Don't go N2O yet! If you even need to ask that question and don't have a clue as to what to buy first,..then you ain't ready for spray yet!

Free Mod it!, LTs, C.A.I. and some good tires for now. Just start there! That should keep you under 1K for now.

A ram air hood will give you ZERO power gains. Just keep that in mind. Do what I did and you'll be happy: Lid = $100 Any lid will do, they all give roughly the same gain, Catback Exhaust (Flowmasters SUCK, they have been known to kill power over stock) $150 - $1000 depending on if you can find one used or not, or how expensive you want your exhaust to be. I got an SLP Loudmouth exhaust for $125 with 2 sets of tips used. A set of 4.10 gears if you have a stick shift and a set of 3.73's if you have an automatic. $200-$500 depending on gear price and installation labor. You can easily stay under $1000 and drop a half second or more off your ET. Those mods on my car gave me 7 tenths off!
