sounds like its been in a pretty bad wreck to me. With a salvage title, and the fact that the body parts(bumper) are not correct, makes it pretty clear-the car was wrecked. If it was me...i would definetly pass.

It might have been in a wreck and have a salvage title but if it was fixed by a body shop and not the guy himself then it should be perfectly fine... as long as there is nothing wrong with the frame. Salvage titled cars sell for pennies. Try e-mailing him and asking for more pics and all the information from the body shop.

Looks like a T/A because it has high wing and says trans am on the black separator on the back, so obviously it is not a formy, and the front bumper was completely replaced. Must have been front end accident.
If it was not salvage, I would sell my LT1 right now to pick that up.

IMPORTANT! The 19 records on this 2002 PONTIAC FIREBIRD FORMULA/TRANS AM may confirm a clean title history or uncover potential problems. Find out by ordering the complete CARFAX Vehicle History Report.
That should make you leary to start with.

First of all, i don't care if it's salvage or not, don't care if they ripped the front end off. Buy the durn thing after some interior and under hood pics if it's even a trans am, then you got a ws6 hood, rims, cool looking formula front bumper already painted to make it unique, and a cheap fast ride. Wear it out, i'd call immediately and ask lots of uestions though, then get some moo-lah together.

Call about it to make sure it's legit and ask about it's history like accidents and make sure to ask about the Formula bumper. Then go check it out from top to bottom, take it for a test drive around town and on the highway to make sure there's no abnormal problems and then go from there.

With 19 issues associated with that car, it could be a minor fender bender, or it could have been a drug runner vehical. Who knows without looking at it.
Instead of looking at pics, take a trip over there if you're really serious about it and test drive it. Ya it looks nice in that pic but there's no assurence that the frame isn't twisted, its stollen or any other number of things...
I wouldn't buy it just becasue of the hood facia and a few other painted parts. lol
