Default parts recipe

Alright I'm looking to get 400-450 hp and 450-500 tq. Right now I'm a fully stock 01 SS with 310/339. Can anyone suggest what parts would possibly get to these goals. I may end up throwing a 100 shot on it after i mike my goal.

It's going to be pretty hard to make that TQ with a NA 346, but that HP level is no problem.

You'll need full exhaust, nice heads, decent cam, and a tune. You can make 400rwhp pretty easily with a cam-only + bolton car, but heads will make it that much easier.

The most important question is how much do you want to spend?

well I'm trying to put together a parts list to start buying slowly so in a bout 5-6 months i can have those numbers. So far my list consists of mti lid, pacesetters and tsp duals. As for the cam and heads I'm not real sure. I'm thinking maybe the TSP stage 2.5 kit with the magic stick 3 cam. Hows that sounding so far. My car already has the ls6 intake so i don't think i will need to upgrade that anytime soon. Plus like i said i might just have to through a 100 shot on it for kicks and giggles.

the 5.3 heads will bolt right on to the 5.7, as far a cam how big are you looking to go? Is the car a daily driver? If not then i would just go with the MS4. And dont forget your going to need a new rear-end with all that power.

MTI lid and throttle body, Lingenfelter Camshaft, AFR 205 mongoose heads, hardened pushrods, new lifters and rockers, LS6 or SPEC stage 3 clutch (if you are in a manual), and that new rear end.

check out the internal engine section, lots of people are running the TSP 5.3 heads. Check out their website as well for flow #'s, etc.
