from my experience, I would say 95k isn't at the point where you should be concerned about replacing Alot of parts. At about 120 to 130k I would say its an investment. but I wouldn't be worried.

Get a scanner and find out what codes it's thrown. Autozone will let you use one for free. My 99' has 115k and I've had very few problems with it.

Depends on the price of it. Scan it and see what it is.

That sounds like a good price. I got my 98 z from a friend for $7,000 it had 78,000 mi it has about 90,000 on it now and no problems with the motor. I blew out 2nd gear on the trans but FLT is working on that right now

I have a 99 and have had two go bad. It's an easy fix although pulling the intake manifold is tedious...

My friend has a '98 TA with something like 110k-115k and it hasn't given him any issues except some thing where the car wouldn't shift out of park on cold days (I forget what caused it but it was a cheap fix).

+1, in 6th it's rare for them to be over 2K rpm for any amount of time on a trip.

I'm kinda new to the LS1 game but I bought my '98 w/ 121k on it for $4500 and it runs flawlessly. I drive 60 mi. everyday through the back roads of Vermont so I needed a pretty reliable vehicle. The previouse owner was a 60 yr. old gear head and said he bought it 'cuz it reminded him of his 455 T/A. He had the dealership replace the clutch at 57k and I'm gonna have it done again at 124K, since it's startin' to slip on hard launches. If your not buyin' it for an investment then scoop it up and have a blast for at least another 100k.
