Check Engine.. a little update
i was drivin the ta yesterday cruisin at about 30, when i romped it pretty hard... kicked down a couple gears and took off. seconds later, the "service engine soon" light went on.
it has continued to stay on since.
wonderin if anyone has any suggestions, or if i ought to just find somebody with a code reader and go from there.

did u fill up with gas just before all this happened. if u didnt put the gas cap on right it will throw a code. so just try to rescrew that on. if thats the problem it should go off within like 20 miles.

damn, good point, i hadnt even thought of that. i filled her up several hours before... seems like the light would have come on earlier, but you never know. i'll be sure to make sure the cap is on right before i go out again.

Mine always came on from the 02 sensor. Autozone will check it for free and delete the code but if the issue isn't fixed or deleted by a tune the check engine light will keep coming on! My tune now has mine deleted...no more engine light!

Mine was always an O2 sensor had it checked by Autozone and both banks were showing low voltage, put my loud mouth 1 exhaust on and it went away...wierd, definatly go to autozone, don't think they'll delete it but at least you can get an idea of what it is

so i got it checked and i guess BOTH cats are throwing codes. maybe that little WOT pull shot something out into my cats? if so, thats a good thing i suppose, shows it wasnt really driven too hard before i bought it.
i just want to cut those damn cats out, and weld in some piping, since emissions arent an issue where im at... but then im guessing the check engine light will stay on? hmm what should i do
