slp.

I wouldn't get that exhaust if you are planning on ever going heads or cam. It will be very loud, and raspy.

That is a stock 98' WS6. BONE STOCK. factory exhaust. ASC did the cars, not SLP.

Cars on TV and in commercials sound VERY VERY different. Point and case look at "The Transporter" I belive was the name of the movie. His bone stock Audi growled and roared like it had flows on it. The commercial makes it sound sooo much meaner than it really is.

a cam makes everything louder. My friend sold his Corsa b/c of the same reason. Got a cam.

i see. well reason why i wanted that exhaust from the commercial was because i want to keep my car as stock as possible. and my current stock exhausts are just so quiet. so i was hoping to put in another stock exhaust like that in the commercial. i'm looking for something somewhat stock or stock looking. something that growls like a night beast out of hell. something that gives me more horsepower but not wear my engine out like mods do. thanks

+1??? yeah don't think exhaust will wear your engin out..... the slp dual dual exhaust has a good sound on it but is still pretty quiet. click on my fquick link in my sig and you can hear what that sounds like, the vid is in the bottom right corner.

I believe he was saying he wanted more horsepower, but no by using heavy power adders or heavy mod that would wear out the engine... And exhaust will add power and not hurt the engine...

I feel that exahaust DOES! wear a motor out and that is why I will never buy a car with aftermarket exhaust.

Before you call BS, I want you to think about it. Remember when you were stock? Didnt really rev on it much b/c it didnt sound that great...got that new cat-back and now you blip the throttle a good bit more, huh? There you have it. THE PERSON DRIVING! is more inclined to put wear on the motor when they have exhaust.

thanks guys. very informative. +10 to all. i just want whats healthy for my car. i'm not a mod type of person, i'm more of a t/a simpleton "classic" traditionalist preservationist (i guess).
so heres the thing now: will an after market exhaust (slp) wear/not be healthy for my engine?
AND
can I buy or still find that exhaust system on that ws6 on the 98 t/a commercial? I'm sure it sounds better and louder than my current stock base t/a exhaust... i'm sure it growls like in the commercial, but exaggerated...

An exhaust will not hurt your engine at all. I would say Magnaflow would be perfect for you. It's very quiet at cruise/idle and opens up nicely when you go wide open throttle. Plus it's only about $400 and has very good build quality. Check out ls1sounds.com
