Default Mods for a Firehawk

I have a stock, '99 A4 Firehawk. I have no money right now, but I'll turn 18 in June, and I'll hopefully get a job then, and, if it doesn't all go to college, I want to do some mods on my car.

I've learned that one of the best starting mods is a catback exhaust. But is the stock Firehawk exhaust already "upgraded" enough so I can leave it alone? I think that's where the extra 25 or so HP comes from (Above base TA), so am I good in that area?

start with LT headers (i'd say a lid too, but i assume the firehawk already has one).

I'd imagine most people put a different catback on just as much for the sound as the increased flow. if your happy with how your car sounds, and you dont plan on doing any real engine work, then if i were you i'd probably just save your money and not get a new catback. but... if you want a more aggressive sound, i'd look into getting a GMMG or something.

but yeah, start with LT's.

If you have SLP Dual/Dual, I'd go right for the LT's with an ORY and see how you like it. I think D/D sounds great with headers and no cats. Not too loud, but very refined. Most Hawks came with the upgraded exhaust so you should have it. You said it's an A4....get a converter ASAP! Best mod I've done so far hands down. I'd recommend a Yank SS3600 or greater. Good luck with it and keep us posted as to what mods you do.
