Default Is this an LS1 or an LS2? HELP!

I found an LS engine set up for sale that I'm thinking about purchasing.
The seller says it's from a 2004 LS1/T56 GTO.
The pic's that he sent me have a caption on them that says it's an LS2.
Is there anyway to tell if this engine is an LS1 or an LS2 from these pic's?

looks like an LS2, the intake manifold is different from the LS1 and LS6. And the power steering bottle thing doesnt look like the LS1 style.

Its an LS2, 90% sure. The heads are 243's (you can see the casting number on the bottom pic at the back) and its an LS2 intake.

Good eyes on the casting number. I missed that. Looks like I'll be picking this one up then. It only has 5,000 miles on it and I thought the price was a little high for an LS1 but good for an LS2.

In order to run a throttle cable can I just swap the TB to an LS1? Will the PCM like that?

I say keep your mouth closed. Pay for it as if it's an LS1, he might want more money if he knows it's an LS2.

That's kinda what I was thinking. He assured me that the pic's are of the actual set up that I will be purchasing and it also comes with all the pedals, brake and clutch master cylinders, air box and even the AC lines.

I would just pick up an LS6 intake since it's better than the LS2.

BTW Great Find

$6000 shipped. I thought that was way too high for an LS1. I assume he know's that it's an LS2 and just made a mistake saying that it came from an 04. I thought the price was pretty good for having 5000 miles only and coming with everything I need for my swap.

Will the LS2 PCM have any issues with running an LS6 intake and throttle body? Can it be retuned to work?

Thanks for the help and answers guys.

The motor ships out tomorrow

The throttle body says "LS2" right on it doesnt it? If the guys sells it as an LS1 when it says LS2 right on it he deserves to have someone take it for cheap.

I hope so. The car with me in it weighed in at 2660 pounds with the aluminum SR20DET motor. I know the LS will add some weight but not too bad.

The SR20 put out 312rwhp and it ran 12.74 @ 114 on street tires with a 2.1 60ft.

I'm hoping to run in the high 11's with the LS motor and some better tires. We'll see.
