Default Best way to 400RWHP

Hey guys, was wondering what you were running for a 400 rwhp setup, just want to get some sort of idea in my head, Just got the car its a 2000 Z28 for now i know its got a Catback exhaust on it and someone messed with the computer cause the shifts are pretty firm, and it does have a k&n FIPK but other than that no idea, just treat it as a stock car i guess?

Get an lS6 intake. P&p throttle body, And a mild cam. You should hit 400rwhp.

Your car + 100 shot dry nitrous = 400whp. Also could probably do it for $400 (used)

yea theres always the giggle gas

or do all the bolt ons and free mods and there are tons of cam choices to get 400 rwhp mark. dont forget the tune afterwards.

once you get that path down if your m6 get upgraded clutch if a4 get a stall and do gears!

Nothing wrong with being an A4. There are plenty of A4 vs. M6 threads around here, so I won't discuss that. Safest way to get 400whp would be heads and cam.

headers, lid, ls6 manifold, undrive pulley, ls6 heads, and a mild cam would put you at 400 easy. get 3.73 gears and 3600 stall you will be set

There are far more cam only cars with less than 400rwhp then there are cam only cars with more than 400rwhp.

It will take all the supporting mods i.e. exhaust, intake....etc. and a big cam to hit it. If you want virtual guarantees...then do h/c. A big cam should get you there......just don't be disappointed if the cam only route does not yield the # you thought it would

I made 390rwhp with my cam and bolt ons. I haven't used the nitrous yet. If I add the 90/90 combo I can get through the 400rwhp barrier.

I would get a stall, and exhaust. If your not happy with that then work in steps. Get a intake, then a tune, and then a cam.

Stalled and Cammed LS1s are bad *****. I wish I would have went automatic instead of a manual just for that reason.

Best thing to do is just research.

You can definitely hit the 400rwhp mark with these cars, but its going to take a little dough. You should definitely go h/c with it, underdrive, exhaust, tune. If you just want the speed throw some 4.10s in it. That will help out.

best way is just an opinion, but all of the ways listed above are in general how it has been done in the past, and now. There are Many people on here running low 230 dur cams with the supporting mods above the magical 400 marker. Don't forget to tune!

Right on. The tune is an important factor.

(Of course, you could always buy a Cobra and slap a few hundred dollars worth of mods on it to make that mark, lol. Just giving you guys a hard time!)

It's not just important it has to be done. After I did my cam swap, my car wouldn't stay running after it warmed up.
