Default MAF anf TB worth it?

I was looking into purchasing a granneteli maf and a ported throttle body. They're going to cost about $500.00. They claim 10 rwhp increase each. Do they make that big of a difference, or not worth it?

MAF is not worth much, so you might want to spend that money for something else.

$500?? No way man. Get ANYTHING else with your 500 bucks. ie. sfc's, phb, nitrous, (ported tb is a good idea tho), ls6 intake, plugs, wires, headers + y, cat-back.. ****, anything besides spending $500 for no gains

not sure what you have done to the car but the above are WAY better ways of spending $500 and will do you a lot more good in the long term. keep in mind the stock maf can handle up to 500hp b4 having to be replaced.. i personally have a granatelli but thats only cuz i paid $50 for it

i'd buy a lid and catback for 500 bucks also.. maf's are pointless when the stocker will support a 450rwhp car.

ported TB is good for 5-7hp or so

the maf is anywhere from -5 to 5hp...depends on the car....basically a waste of money.

money better spent elsewhere

I'd wait to get a tune until you get some longtubes at least. You aren't gonna gain much on a stock car.

funny you mention that b/c i couldn't ever break in to the 12's till i put my ls1tech.com sticker on. it's crazy. not to mention i can burn the tires off the rims now just doing a mild burn out.. oh and the best part, i put some octane boost in and MAAANNN let me tell you, it's just like having continuous nitrous

i don't even want to get in to how much hp i gained with my k&n... shiiiiitt. i put some yosemite sam mudflaps on recently too and all the rubber drips off it making rubber-sicles. next mod will be the "Ain't Skeered" banner across the windshield and calvin pissing on rice.. I'm also considering the intake tornado thingy.. i'll get a baseline to let y'all know how much hp and tq i gain.

i tell ya what, i'd invest in a can of that NOS stuff too... no, not the huge bottle with the nozzle and all that stuff, but the can that is in the freezers in most gas stations... that stuff sure does wake a car up when installed properly!
but on a serious note, no a MAF sure isnt gonna do that much for ya... hell if you want to wake your stock MAF up, go buy a can of MAF cleaner and see if that does the trick for ya lol
