Default does this sound good?

For my 2000 z28 im gonna put in a ftra, the high-flow 85mm air lid with the slp 85mm MAF, and a 160 degree thermostat while getting my fans reset. Does this sound like a good plan or is there something better?

If you drive your car in the winter I would not get a 160 stat....your car will not warm up, at least my 93 does not, but I don't drive it in the winter anymore. I'd get a catback before a maf.

I would just go normal size SLP lid, fernco mod, FTRA, and then save the rest of the cash for a catback and some headers. That would wake the car up the most. Dont bother with the thermo and maf, people run 500 bhp through the stock one no problem.

I say go with the SLP Flowpack (lid and cold air), then catback, then headers, then itake, TB, and pulley.

Although, if you can port the TB yourself, then do anything free you can as soon as possible.

OR if you get a 90/90 after or during step 4).

Start off with the free mods. Then go with a lid and catback to get the engine breathing better. If the budget will allow, then add headers and a high flow or off road y-pipe. At that point you should probably get a tune and think about some suspension mods.

stock maf is better, up till higher hp like 500, then it cant flow no more. 160 degree thermostat is for forced induction bro.

Can't say I'm a big fan of de-screening the MAF, but to each his own. The other free mods include the TB bump stop (allows the TB blade to open further) and a free ram-air setup (similar to the FTRA, but minus the sheet metal parts). Try running a search, or check the stickies at the top of this section for the low-down on all the free mods.

Happy modding!
