Default Spliced O2 sensor

I looked over my car and seen that I had o2 sensor pigtail had been frayed. Well I went back spiced it back together. My question is will it work even if I spliced it back together will that work or will the o2 sensor still not read correctly because of the splice.

It is iffy at best, 02 sensors make fuel adjustments and they are outputing millivolts, any type of splice in the connection can cause a slight increase in resistance, it does not take much resistance to chang the output buy a few millivolts, which will throw your fueling of.

you are 'dead on' on this one, very sensitive readings that are easily interupted by any forms of resistance

You wont be able to see the problem by checking fuel trims, beeing that the trim readings are what will be skewed. Only real way to tell is stick a wideband in it and see what the real A/F is

sorry, your right. wasnt thinking clear. Just trying to say that the car might seem to run fine but i think the A/F would be off. If he's lucky the bad wire is just for the heating element in the o2 sensor

hmmm sorry to steal the thread but quick ? ...I have a slight miss on 3 &4 cold ...give it some throttle then no miss....when hot at idle I have a miss on 2&6 I THINK, I foget which 2 they were but they were different then the cold miss. again give it throttle and no miss. When I made my 02 extensions I used a plug with tthe wire out of a junk car and get the other plug end soddered them togther and shrink wrapped it...when you say that if its off at all it will screw the fuel up ...can this be why? are my symptoms a result of this...?

MagnaTransAm you'll want to replace your home made extensions with good quality o2 extensions. The LS motor is always reading the o2 sensors, and a poor quality extension can mess it up. You might have other problems in regards too the misfire, but replacing those extensions means that's one more thing you can rule out when trouble shooting.

What are the best o2 sensors to get, and where do I get the new o2 sensor extensions from?

It doesn't matter what brand of O2 sensors you get and you can get extensions from pretty much any of the sponsors----------------------------------------------------------->
