I just bought an 01 Z28 that is doing the same thing. I haven't had time to pull the front wheels to clean off the wheel sensors yet, but thats my next guess.I also read that if any of the brake lights are burned out this will happen also.My spoiler brake light was burned out, I replaced the bulbs and now the dash lights don't come on as often, but they still do.

Sounds like a short somewhere if they come on randomly like that. Def check bulbs cause that will cause your brake light to come on

Check the front wheel speed sensor connectors at the frame (inboard side of the frame near the the rear of the K-member). These connectors may be unplugged or if they came in contact with the header primaries, they may be burnt/melted. These are two-wire connectors and are a grey or white color.

If those are OK then you need to scan the ABS and see it it is storing any codes. If the lights are on, it will be storing a code.

I got the same problem, sometimes my stereo flickers on and off, my tcs flickers, abs, all that ****, and when the light comes on, it sure as **** dont work. Those brakes have almost caused me to crash multiple times. its obveously a short, but you should see the wiring in this bitch i dont even know where to begin.

Does it flicker on and off of just come on, then go back off? With my last Ls1, those lights came on for some weird reason, but then they would always go back off, and stay off.

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but have you checked your brake fluid level and reservior switch? If your master cyl has low fluid, all those lights could come on

Default abs/asr/brake

I put fresh brakes on the front this weekend and checked the front speed sensors.Everything is plugged in and I didn't see any problems with the wiring. Both speed sensors are plugged in good on the rear also.I just replaced the rearend weekend before last with a low mileage one, so the sensors on the rear are different now.I did have burned out third brake light bulbs and I fixed that.
I have been driving it to and from work now for a full week and noticed the lights come on at almost the exact same spot every morning.I drive about 2 miles through town to get to the freeway, then just after I get on the freeway and get up to speed they come on. Just driving it around town at slow speeds they will stay off for a long time. Any ideas? I'll get it scanned for codes next I guess.

Just realized this was a thread hijack and can't remove my post! txturbo, were you getting the lights before the rear swap?

yes I was....I've noticed it seems to be temperature related in my case. On cool mornings(50s) it will go further before the lights come on.Lately, in the evenings its been pretty hot(mid 90s) and they come on almost immediately.
