GM never put a *real* black in these cars. '98-'99 had what GM called "dark gray" (which was an actual dark gray), and '00-'02 had what GM called "Ebony", but it wasn't a real black. It was just a dark charcoal gray. It might have looked black to you all by itself, but when compared to a car with a real black interior (like a Cadillac), you can tell that '00+ "Ebony" isn't real black.

I used to have an '00 WS6 with "ebony" leather, and at the same time I also had a '96 Fleetwood with *real* black leather. There was a distinct color difference.
But if you guys want to call the F-body stuff black, go ahead. Whatever gets you to sleep at night.

i had a 98 black paint and black leather and now have an 01 black paint and black leather and the 98 is a good bit lighter than my 01 leather when i compare em side by side (my buddy bought the 98 so i see it all the time....it's now a piece of sh.t) the 01 isnt' real black but no one knows.
