Default Radio is HOT

I was driving my car yesterday ( i bought it yesterday ) and i realized that the Lights (mainly the radio lights which are the numbers and all that stuff) get hot. Is this normal??

Yeah. Mine does the same thing. Especially when there's a CD playing.

Im guessing its normal cuz alot of the buttons get rather hot, even the ones on the steering wheel.

It gets hot because there is a lightbulb behind them which is giving off all that heat.

Is there anyway to put any LEDs in there to stop causing the excessive heat built it.

yea, not uncommon. Wait till you get a cam. The heat from the dash sucks. These cars where made for cheap fun. Other things were sacrificed

The radio in a Camaro is the same basic head unit as in a C5...and those get hot too. That has nothing to do with poor or good quality, anything with a bulb in it will heat up eventually.

As for the cam, my WS6 was cammed with headers, and the dash never got any hotter than stock.

You can do the LED mod to reduce the heat. Check the stereo section.
