Sensor in the dash, near the alarm LED. Bypass the sensor, hook the wires up directly. Voila, no more auto headlights. I think if you pull the radio you can get to it from there.

I like them personally, I rarely touch my headlight switch anymore.

I've been wanting to bypass that sensor forever, but kept stalling because I'm afraid of cracking the dash.

No, no switch. Some people have wired in a switch to override the auto headlights though.
Bad idea running from the cops

Like I said above, I think you can get to the sensor or at least the wires by pulling the radio and reaching in there. Don't have to mess with the dash that way. Pretty sure someone else here did that.

The radio method shuts off the daytime running ambers too I think. I like them DRLs.

You can do that too from the radio access, but I'm talking about going after the wires to the light sensor only and leaving the ones for the DRLs alone.

come to a complete stop, put the car in park, pull up the e-brake.
turn key to off position, then turn it to on position - lights are off and you're in the dark.
just make sure you do this before they get the helicopters out because turning off the lights isn't going to protect you from thermal imaging.

To reach the daylight sensor you simply lift the top part of the dash up. It's held by little clips that come out easily.

Clamp the two wires together with a scotch-lock and you will no longer have automatic headlights.

It takes longer to give instructions than it does to do the job.

There are threads with photographs in the search function.
