YIKES!

Blow down kit = $90 = well worth it in this case.

If there was a blowdown in place, that was a very, very costly malfunction!

.....they have a burst disk...that would have to be a complete rupture of the tank. I call Bs...

Even if he didn't have a blow down tube, the bottle would still let the nitrous out.

I agree^ maybe the burst disk malfunctioned completely and kept the pressure into a certain point. Then the bottle couldn't hold it anymore and just let go.

I call BS.....Preasure vessels have to be rated at min. 2.5 times working preasure. Bursting preasure is up to 5 times that. (1000psi working, Safety vent is 3000, so bursting would be around 5-6000 psi.) The valve would blow out before the tank would let go...DOT standards. I think that bottle was a home made job, not a rated preasure vessel ....

it looks to me like 2 different accidents here

1- car crash
2- bottle exploded for some reason

That is some scary ****. I would hope these guys are right and this was a rigged bottle. I'm getting ready to put a bottle in my car and I was thinking of putting it between the back seats. If that happend I would DIE. I wonder how loud it was.
