if your doing all the work yourself I would say that you could do a cam swap plus tune for around 1200-1500, buy a plate kit along with a 90/90 setup along with boltons, spray a 100-150 and youd be fine..im sure others will chime in..just my .02

LOL, just buy a kit and sprat 150 on it. That will get you 11's.

BMR torque arm
Sub frame connectors
Drag radials
Headers and Y pipe W/cutout
G5X2 cam, Patriot gold springs
ARP head studs
GM MLS Head gaskets
A GOOD TUNE! (cough, cough, Bluecat)

Those mods alone could get you into the 11's if you can drive the car pretty good. After that I would contact either Matt @ HSW or Nitro Dave to hook you up with a good kit with all the safety gadgets. If you spray 150 on top of the mods I listed you should be in the high 10's!

to run 11's? just the damn nitrous kit! but I would go with the Nano upgrade also to get the most out of your nitrous kit! other wise you can probably run 11's with just a cam, tune, and DR's and lots of driving practice! good luck!

First i would slap a pair of headers on there if you havent done so already. You can pick up a complete kit like i posted below for around a 1000, so that would leave 3000 for headers, cam and intake. A set of kooks or ARH, a 233/239 cam and a FAST 90 would be a good combo. You should have room to upgrade your stock fuel pump and possibly injectors (if necessary).

These two packages are everything you would need to be up and running safely. A 100-150 shot should get you into the 11's if not 10s with the mods noted in your sig and depending on how well you drive

I would say you need help with traction as it, so N20 is not going to help. The suspension or at min a good tire is needed now.

good step with the rearend going in

The main question you need to ask yourself is...

do you want power all the time or occasionally?

if you want a car that rocks all day long go the cam and bolt-on route, and leave the N20 for your next step

or the other step would be headers, fuel pump and nitrous

The bang for the buck is far better with the N20 setup..no doubt, but again it's not something that will be at your right foot all the time.

just my .02

depends on what you have done, or plan to do with your motor. IF you do the cam, headers, etc. your going to want to replace your stock fuel pump. Since your mostly stock you could probably run a 125-150 without any problems. If the car has not been previously tuned you wont need to pull any timing either. Those two links i posted above will give you everything you need to run your kit safely and consistently

I had a car with a fast 90/90 setup, ms3, 2.5 5.3l heads, longtubes, and a hsw plate kit. Plus all the supporting mods... It put down over 600 at the wheels. I never took it to the track on the bottle, but it was well into the 10's (as far as what it was capable of)

Pretty sweet little setup, and it'd be within your budget if you did all the work yourself and shopped around for the parts.

IF you have 4K and you don't have to pay labor...

1. cam swap
2.tune
3.headers & ypipe
4.catback
5. 150 shot
6. good tires

and high 10's should be your goal with that. Hit me with a PM if you need help picking out a good combo.

I would Find you a ls6 intake or if you already have one good. Buy you a ud pulley. And contact tsp for a set of 2.5 5.3 heads and a ms3 shaft. Super good combo. As far as rear goes with the 6 spd your gonna have gear noise from hell if you pull off on it enough. Pick up a used system off of here. Shoot 250 or 300 on it and you got a high 9 sec ride at 3450. The best tuner in the state of Sc is kyle in conway at css performance. He does phillip rivers cars and several other ppl. I have been to everytuner in the state and they arnt **** compared to kyle. just my .2 cents. torque arm and welds also. thanks my man

There are quite a few reputable places that can help with your cam selection etc. Generally speaking if its a street car, I would base cam selection off of N/A power and go from there. Matt over at texas-speed is a great guy to deal with and extremely knowledgeable. I would send him or Speed Inc. above a PM and see what kind of package they could work out for you on the cam. If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call. Thanks.

just remember you get what you pay for...buying the cheapest ported heads may not be the best route. there is a reason why tfs and afr's are known to be the best, and it isnt just becasue they make the most power...they are just better quality heads.
