Default Another new best, the little 346 that could! *video added*

One again, Cartek and Big Mike making some serious noise!!!!

Holy Cow. I went to a track rental day today at Atco Raceway. Anticipating good air and good track prep I was expecting 9.60-9.50's out of the car. Nothing else has been changed whatsoever. My new best and an earthshattering record which now puts me wayyyyyy in front of the other 346 ci. with a power adder contestants.

R/T... .004
60'... 1.362
330... 3.856
1/8... 5.965
MPH... 115.79
990... 7.765
1/4... 9.406
MPH... 141.39

This was the best run of the day. Other passes resulted in 9.45, 9.42, 9.56. My best MPH was 143.58. This is one 346 that just won't stop!! I would just like to add that the car weighs 3640 with me in it!!!!

A HUGE thanks to Dave, Julio, Rich, Kevin and John for all the help getting the car ready. I can't thank you guys enough.

I have a video and the timeslip which will be posted w/in the next day or so.

Here is the 9.40 video:
http://www.sy-ty.com/albums/album28/mike9_40.wmv

This was the 1st run of the day 9.57:

What are the engine specs? I am building a forged 346, and am curious what parts forged people are using. Thanks, Shawn

300 Shot NOS Direct Port, 3.73 gears and a 28x10.5 tire. The 60' was a 1.36.

Hey Mike, that is laying down the NUMBER.

I didn't think we'd see a 346-348ci car below 9.50 for a while but I was dead wrong!!!

Congrats I hope to run you down in 2004.

Thanks John!

It might be hard to beleive but there is at least a .20 in the car as it sits. The tires were spinning noticibly on the 60' If we can dead hook it I don't see why it can't go a 9.2X. I know it won't be easy, but with weight reduction I think a 8.9x might be possible.

Wow, that would be crazy. An 8 second 346" motor car with a hydraulic cam. Dude, that is insane. Who needs a stroker anyway? LOL..... kick ***.

Wow, thats impressive, what kind of RWHP did it take to do that? We wanted to be the first in the 9.40-9.50 range but our trans broke the rear sprag, Carl Rossler said it was one of the first he has seen break. Congrats to you and the guys at Cartek!
