Default 200 shot on 10 bolt??

So a friend is trying to line me up against a chevy truck with a 408 spraying a 200 shot hitting a 10.5 ET and my car's best so far has been 11.1 with a 150 shot(I know it sucks). This was on a nitrous tuning I've never ran it on N/A tuning but I'll be ordering a nitrous controller from HSW this monday first thing in the morning so I can keep an N/A tuning and retard timing when spraying. My mods are in my sig and it has 42 lb injectors and a Walbro high pressure fuel pump. I've got a 10 bolt with 373s but I don't spray off the line I use a RPM window switch that kicks in at 3200 to 6500 rpms. Could my car handle a 200 shot or maybe 175? What ya guys think could I beat this truck with a bigger shot?

is the truck 4X4? if so your going to have your hands full..

you "should" be ok spraying a 200 shot.. 175 would be more ideal though..

will be a good race... i figure he will jump you and you will come back on him.

I have sparyed many stock 10bolts with a 200 shot out of the hole, lt1 and ls1 cars going 10.6s-10.9s on 60fts around the 1.47-1.50 range, i say spray it with the 200....

No, its not a 4x4 just a regular cab. Oh yeah he'll jump me bad from take off but the finish line is all that matters to me.

I wish I could build up the courage to spray off the line but my car's budget right now could not afford another rear end!

.

I doubt you will pick up .6-.7. Good luck, but that's a lot of ET.

I ran 9.88 on a stock 8.5 with a 20+ year old posi, spraying off the line.
I think what saved me was it spun and never really hooked good.

Again good luck.

Nah! I always keep it at the track since I got arrested for racing on a highway years ago!

i say if you know his ET dont run him until you can match it of better it. delay a week or 2 and up your shot to 200 and see if it gets you to 10.5

The HSW 78mm plate kit(wet) I have has the jets up to 150 so I wonder if all I have to get are the jets for 175 and 200? So I guess I'm not sure if its that simple to just throw in the jets and it'll work fine. Would this kit work fine with it even though it only included up to 150? Or would I have to get another kit to step it up to a bigger shot? Anyone from HSW that could answer that question?

Another 50hp of nitrous isn't going to get it done. Not unless you start spraying sooner and or your tune for the nitrous is so far off that you can pick up some additional hp that way.

I've been spraying my 10 bolt with a 200 shot for a few weeks at the track. If you are soft launching and spraying after the car is moving good, it will last a while.
I can tell you going from 150-200 really isnt that much. My car picks up roughly 2 tenths going from a 150-200, and only picks up 2mph..in the 1/8th though. I'd say going to a 200 on your car will only put you in the low 10.90s-10.80s. and probly 4mph more. Whats your car trap?

That HSW plate kit will support a 250 shot i'm pretty sure. I have some friends who have run up to a 300 hit on same plte

yes you can easily get to 10.7s but not 10.5 even with a window switch to set up till about 3500 so you dont blow ur rearend....but you wont beat him, u will need spots, tell him to set you out 3 cars or even 2 and the hit and blows his doors off and collect your money, lol

I'm running 26x11.5 ET Streets and have no traction issues they hook up great! I'll definitely be looking into spraying sooner maybe even off the line for this race. I just bought me the HSW Interface controller to see if that'll take care of some minor issues I was having and get a retuning. I'm definitely not goin to back down from this race no matter what the outcome!

I trapped 124 mph on the 11.1 with a 1.6 sixty! I hadn't noticed I had made a mistake on the initial post where I put the nitrous kicked in at 6500(correction it kicks in at 3200 and sprays all the way onto 6500).

Anyways, HSW Interface in the way as well as some retuning!

I agree and am surprised it's not better than that if it comes on at 3200. It might be the converter he's using.

I sprayed a 200 shot out of the hole for a while until my 10 bolt finally gave out. But the whine got louder & louder every hard launch!! So I think you will be ok for a little while...lol
