Default Nx Tpas Install Question!!

Im going to install an NX throttle position activation switch in my 2001 corvette Z06. I know the throttle position sensor is on the passenger side of the throttle body. Its a 3 pin connector that has 3 wires going into it. I also know that 1 wire is 5 volts in, the other is a ground, and the other is 5 volts out. The color of the wires are red, yellow, and sorta an off yellow.

My question to you guys is WHICH WIRE IS THE 5 VOLTS OUT WIRE???? So I can connect the wire from the NX unit to the 5 volts out wire. This is another way of activating the nitrous-fuel solenoids without a manual WOT switch.

The NX TPAS switch will sense 5 volts out comming from the TPS sensor at WOT and will trigger the solenoids.

Thanks.

Anyone know the answer to this question only on a drive-by-wire throttle body on a 03 5.3 Sierra?

Fella's this is way too easy. Just get a volt meter. Red will likely be the incoming voltage. Simply stab into the yellow and put the other end to ground with the gauge set to continuity. Open up the throttle body and one of the yellows will go to ground and set off the continuity alarm. Or, just go for the wire the sends out 3 to 5 volts. In all likelihood you may only see 3.5 to 4 volts on our TPS. That's ok though. Once you find the wire trace it back to the PCM and splice it in there. That's how I found it on mine and it was pretty fool proof. You only have two wires to choose from, just check em real quick!

Once you get it wired in, keep in mind that you use the tiny *** brass screw on the TPIS box to fine tune it for the incoming voltage. It can be less then 5 and still work. I made sure that mine engages at about 85 to 90% full WOT. That way the connection closes by the time the pedal is on the floor. If you try to adjust it all the way at the top I've found the TPIS to be flaky and kick the noids on and off due to very tiny voltage differences. It seems like it's super sensitive to me.

Would this be the same in a 2000 LS1 camaro??? Why splice back at pcm and not right there at TPS on the throttlebody?

Thanks

It's the blue wire. I have the same setup.

thanks for the info...so if I put a voltmeter on the blue wire, turn the ignition on, and flip the TB blade open, it should register about 3.5-5,0 volts...right?

Also, did you patch into the blue wire at the sensor or did you trace it all the way to the pcm and splice it there???

All the way to the PCM and spliced there. Makes it easier to run the wire and it's more out of the way. Either place will work with the same results. Expect to see about 3.8 to 4.5 volts on the voltmeter.
