Default Only gsined .156 on a 100 shot?

Yesterday I went to the local 1/8 mile drag strip. I made a single nitrous pass with a HSW dry pre-maf 100 shot. It is a t56 car and the mods are in sig with the mentioned 100 shot and BFG drag radials. The nitrous run time was a 8.2196 @ 91.37 mph w/ a 2.0822 60'. I felt like it ran strong and hooked well but I did not spray off the line or in first gear. I made another pass on motor only and ran a 8.3763 @ 84.22 mph w/ a 1.9623 60'. My question is why did I only gain .1567 of a second but ~7.15mph. Is there possibly something wrong with my car but my nitrous definitely "did something" cause of the gain in mph. I posted here because I'm sure alot of you guys have alot more exp. with n20 than me so any experiences or input would be helpful.

matter of fact it was only 2 tenths that I picked up in the 8th mile on a 100 shot and I also picked up 7mph ,but then when I sprayed off the line my 60 dropped from 2.0 to 1.7 and I picked up 6 tenths ,its all in the 60

Thanks man I guess with your similar results I shouldn't worry about something being wrong with my car. I don't want to spray in first gear at all. I did leave the line easy because I currently don't have a way to lock-out first gear. It will spray if I go WOT. So I left (estimated 3/4 throttle) in first shifted to second and rolled on the pedal till 3500 rpms then sprayed. I was definitely impressed with my 91mph but my all motor 8.3 was a COMPLETE SHOCK to me I smiled ear to ear the rest of the day. If I lock out 1st I should be able to cut that 60' to a 1.9 at least and get that 8.0 or high 7 I'm hunting.

Thanks man I was surprised also. The mods are accurate and its a full weight except for spare tire/jack and it has a full tank of gas. I am the only real weight reduction in the car I weigh 155 and I'm 6'2" haha I'm a skinny bastard. But believe me from experience traction makes a HUGE difference.

I ran a 7.7 at 91 mph on a 50 shot at motormile dragway in radford ,too many traction issues with the 100 shot on nittos,if I can hookup with the 100 shot on some better tires I should get a mid to low 7, runs 8 flat on motor with 273 gears and stock stall

It was at Huntsville Dragway in north Alabama. I have no idea what the DA was for the day but the weather was ~60 with a cool breeze and the track is 616ft. above sea level. 8 flats on motor is WOW on stock stall and 273 gears. What kind of power you put down on motor. I put down 340hp 350tq at the wheels.

I agree with snk-huntr,

Its all in the 60ft times...7mph is actually a pretty decent gain on only a 100 shot.

I agree that it is all in the 60'. I thought 7 mph was a lot too but I'm not complaining. If I had to guess I would say that maybe my OEM clutch was slipping maybe it wasn't who knows I guess I'll rock it till it goes. But the mph should tell you Nick how awesome your products are I'm very pleased. Especially it being a lil ol 100 shot and my bottle pressure was not at 950 it a tad over 800.

Not to but you guys that are spraying in first. Do you do this with a stock rearend? What rpm do you spray in first? I also am spraying a dry 100 shot (post maf Harris kit). Haven't gone to track and have no way to measure A/F but seat of pants gain seems significant!!

Traction is definitely the issue here. The fact that we're looking at this for an 1/8 mile run also is a big factor. If you're struggling with traction down low you're not going to realize the full extent of the benefit of an extra 100 rwhp in an 1/8 mile run (since the bulk of your time is spent running through 1st and 2nd). I imagine your 1/4 mile times would've posted a pretty nice gain (your mph was already 7 mph higher in the 1/8).

your makin the power since you gained 7mph, the et is off because your setup is not putting it to the ground. Shitty 60ft = shitty et...

had this run been on a 1/4 mile track, you would be singing a different tune, youll really see the gain on the back half, thats where you really pick up the speed. Ive probably made a 100 passes on a 150 wet shot with nitto street tires, always sprayed in first, slipped it off the line and then the spray came on at 3000rpm and WOT. Put the drag radials to it and snapped the left axle trying to spray it off the line for the first time. When running a 10bolt, street tires are your friend

Is exactly why I'm not spraying in first gear. But you guys are right about the 60' being the key in the 1/8. I think that when I get my car setup to automatically lock first gear and I DO launch harder then I definitely think I got a high 7 pass in it. I appreciate the input I feel really good about good things to come from my car.

100 shot netted me 3 tenths and 10 mph in the 1/8 spraying at about 40 ft. this was close to you, nashville tn. btw, i uped it to 150 wet shot and i pulled a 1.49 60 ft last saturday with the stock 7.5 rear. ive upgraded the axles and added a support cover. pretty pleased with that
